Who We Are
Turken Foundation was established in2014 in the United States by Turkey’s two major foundations, Ensar Foundation (established in 1979) and TURGEV (established in 1996).

Turken Foundation assists eligible students by means of scholarship, accommodation and other cultural programs in order to improve their education process in the United States.

The purposes of the Turken Foundation are as follows:
– To provide safe, supportive and culturally appropriate housing for the students,
– To provide cultural, social and educational opportunities and experiences for the students,
– To promote cross-cultural relationships and understanding between various students’ cultures and American culture and tradition.

Profile
The purpose of our foundation is to extend successful works provided by Turgev and Ensar which are the founders of Turken but mainly, the priority is to give consulting services to the students and provide student housing services for them.

Turken foundation’s main purposes are;
Providing proper student housing services to the Turkish students, who are coming from Turkey, in order to increase their efficiencies during their time of education,
Supporting successful students by granting scholarships who are in need of it,

Assisting raising Turkish generation in the States in order to keep them attached to their cultural, spiritual and national values.

Organizing summer schools and student exchange programs in order to understand mutual cultures of Turkish and American communities,

Improve the communications and relations between the communities by using social and cultural activities in order to understand each other and evaluate objectively.

Briefly, in order to accomplish these goals, our foundation has opened locations for Turkish students and started to give housing services up to a capacity of 45 students in Manhattan and close by locations.

Due to high demand within a short time, during 2015 capacity of this service will increase substantially.

Beside student housing, our foundation is planning on education services and in this respect two different schools commenced operations in New York and New Jersey. Both locations started to admit registrations for 2014/2015 academic year.

In a very short time Turken foundation has come a great distance. With the financial and spiritual support of our charitable, we believe that Turken foundation will give permanent service and provide better service to the Turkish and American society.
