Mehmet F. Polat is a U.S. licensed attorney focusing on commercial litigation and various corporate & business law matters. He is the founder of Polat Law Firm.
Mr. Polat obtained his law degree from Ankara University (LL.B Faculty of Law) in 1990 in Ankara, Turkey. In 1994, he got admitted to the Ankara Bar in Turkey. In 2001 Mr. Polat obtained his Master`s Degree in International Trade and Commercial Law (LL.M.) from Temple University, Beasley School of Law in Philadelphia, U.S. In 2003, Mr. Polat got admitted to the New York State Bar. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Federal Courts in the Sourthern District of New York.
Before his U.S. legal career, Mr. Polat worked as a legal consultant for the Turkish Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Ankara, and its Council of Europe Representation Bureau in Strasbourg, France.
From time to time, Mr. Polat participates as a speaker in conferences in Turkey, organized by the U.S. Trade Office in Turkey, the Turkish Chamber of Commerce and similar organizations. In this capacity, he advises Turkish exporters desiring to do business in the United States regarding export risks and legal issues commonly encountered when conducting trade with the United States.
